D. Wallingford's paintings express an infinite variety of very diverse subjects compatible with both traditional and contemporary tastes.  The style can be either realistic or can give the illusion of realism; it is thought provoking, clear, concise, uncomplicated beauty replication.  Her subject matter is drawn from flavors and experiences of having lived in or traveled to every state of the USA and a desire to capture nature with brush or pencil.  Although her primary works are in oils, she also produces beauty with mixed media and colored pencils.

"Before I begin to paint I have one of three purposes in mind before touching the canvas:  First, do I want to stimulate deeper thoughts beyond the visual image?  Second, will I let the whimsy of my mind's eye influence development of paintings to tickle the imagination with a touch of my unique sense of humor?  Or, third, is it the fondness for the visual charm of the subject to be painted?"

Since 1984, the signature of
D. Wallingford is often seen in juried and invitational exhibitions and festivals (as well as many open shows) where she has been a frequent award winner.  Like many accomplished artists, her freelance and commissioned works are in private and corporate collections across the United States.  Several galleries in Oklahoma and Florida have represented her.  She works from a home studio in Valparaiso, Florida.
