Rosalyn works primarily with
acrylics and pastels, and at times oils. Her favorite approach in
creating an artwork is "alla prima" On more complicated paintings,
she will do some preplanning but likes to keep it to a minimum so
that the initial excitement is not lost. Rosalyn has been influenced by the paintings of Manet, Degas, and Cassette depicting people in their everyday activities. Their paintings felt familiar to her in a way that she could relate to. Even though she enjoys painting all genre of subject matter, it is this type of scene that excites her most. Michael Roberts wrote in the Indy Leisure, a Pensacola, Florida newspaper, that Rosalyn's paintings have a "simple, unassuming strength that is hard to ignore" Be sure to visit Rosalyn's personal website to see more of her artworks, her many awards, and the motivation and training of this accomplished artist.
